Trimble was the captain of her team Corpus Christi team from the second round and she scored a significant portion to the points scored by team. Through the rounds prior to the final Trimble was responsible for two thirds of her team’s total score 825 of 1,235. Corpus triumphed with an impressive 275 points. This was more than Manchester’s score of 191 points. The team was disqualified following investigations revealed the co-teammate Sam Kay, finished the course in Corpus Christi while the series was being recorded. The trophy awarded to the winner was then re-dispensed to the runners-up Manchester University.

She was given a spot in Corpus Christi College, Oxford in 2000. She received a declamation prize at Oxford for her Latin performance in 2001. She was reported to have given recitals during lunchtimes at college as a soprano as well as a give lectures in the area of Ovid, Hellenistic poetry and Catullus. Her research was funded through the Arts and Humanities Research Council. In 2010 she was awarded an D.Phil. with a focus on Latin Literature in Corpus Christi, Oxford on the topic of Catullus. Her title for her D.Phil. was ‘An analysis of Catullus 64 1 – 201’. Her doctoral thesis was directed by Dr Philip Hardie and Dr Stephen Heyworth.
Trimble is a practicing Anglican who sang in the choir of The University Church of St Mary the Virgin located in Oxford. On March 9, 2009 Trimble got engaged Tom West, a trainee solicitor, and together they has a daughter.
Trimble was one of the contributors to the 4th edition of the Oxford Classical Dictionary which was published in 2012. She is working on a commentary on Catullus’ longest poem with newly edited text, to appear in the Cambridge University Press series Cambridge Classical Texts and Commentaries. Trimble is also editing a volume on metalepsis in classical texts, after a successful international conference in September 2015. In January 2020, she appeared on In Our Time (radio series) when the programme was on Catullus.
