Riki Fukuda was to be Natal’s opponent at UFC133 on August 6, 2011. Fukuda suffered a knee injury in a car accident. He was replaced by Costas Philippou. Philippou was replaced by Alessio Sakara, who was injured in a car accident. Natal then faced former The Ultimate Fighter: Team Rampage competitor Paul Bradley. Paul Bradley, a Team Forrest competitor, was instead defeated. Natal beat Bradley unanimously, winning the first two rounds on all three judges scorecards. Natal used excellent takedown defense and a steady barrage of low kicks in the fight to defeat his opponent.
Natal next face Andrew Craig on July 11, 2012 at UFC on Fuel TV: Munoz vs. Weidman. After nearly finishing Craig, Natal lost via head kick KO with seconds remaining in round two.
Natal faced UFC newcomer Michael Kuiper on February 4, 2012 at UFC 143. He won the fight via unanimous decision.
According to reports, Natal signed a deal in the future with Shine Fights. Renzo Gracie, however, announced that Natal had signed a four-fight agreement with the UFC in July 2010.

Rafael Natal Diniz Franca, Brazilian mixed martial artist (Brazilian Portuguese: [Rafa’ew na’taw]) is a former Brazilian professional. He was a professional fighter from 2005 to 2017, and is most well-known for his 17-fight UFC stint.
Jason MacDonald was to be Natal’s opponent at UFC 124 on December 11, 2010. MacDonald later withdrew and was replaced by Jesse Bongfeldt. The judges scored the fight as a draw. Natal won the first round 10-9. However, two judges scored round 3 10-8 Bongfeldt by Bongfeldt. This resulted in a majority draw (two 28 – 28 scores after three rounds). The original announcement of the scorecards was a unanimous 30-30 draw. However, copies of the scorecards were distributed and the error was rectified.
Natal was expected to face Alessio Sakara on March 3, 2011 at UFC Live: Sanchez vs. Kampmann but due to injury Natal was replaced by Chris Weidman.
