Kuba has also had stints with the Minnesota Wild, Tampa Bay Lightning as well as his own team, the Ottawa Senators of the NHL.
In Ottawa, Kuba broke an NHL record for defensemen by recording an assist on the 25th of October of 2008 against Toronto. Toronto Maple Leafs, giving him at minimum one point in each of the team’s opening eight matches of the year. The previous record had been set by 1981-82’s Brad Park, who recorded points in all game of seven of the Boston Bruins’ first seven games.

On July 1, 2012, Kuba returned to his original draft team, the Florida Panthers, signing a two-year contract worth $8 million. In the lockout- shortened 2012–13 season, Kuba was unable to live up to his contract registering 10 points in 44 games for the cellar-dwelling Panthers. On July 3, 2013, Kuba was bought out from the remaining year of his deal with the Panthers.
The player played his first NHL year with the Wild during the following season, and scored nine goals and 30 points. In 2003 the Wild made it to the semifinals of the playoffs after defeating the division’s adversaries Colorado Avalanche and Vancouver Canucks before losing against the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in four games. Kuba achieved his career-highs in playoffs with his appearance for 18 times and scoring eight points in Minnesota’s winning streak. After five seasons playing for the Wild Kuba was made an unrestricted free-agent and on the 1st of July 2006, he joined Tampa Bay Lightning. Tampa Bay Lightning. While playing for Minnesota, he was appointed captain of the team twice in November 2001 and November 2005 as part of the Wild’s rotating monthly captaincy system. Kuba was selected during the 1995 NHL Entry Draft by the Florida Panthers in the 8th round, 192nd overall after having played for the HC Vitkovice junior team in his home country of Czech Republic. When he was drafted by the Florida Panthers, he was within his home country of Czech Republic for one more season, and was a part of the senior team of HC Vitkovice from the Czech Extraliga.
Then, after moving from North America, he played for the majority in his 4 seasons for the Panthers playing in minor leagues, before getting traded to Calgary Flames for Rocky Thompson on March 16th the 16th of March, 2000. Prior to the start of the 2000-01 season, Kuba was left unprotected by the Flames to participate in an NHL Expansion Draft and was accepted as a player by Minnesota Wild. Minnesota Wild.
