Fiachra Breathnach (born 21 November, 1986) was an Irish Gaelic footballer from Galway. Breathnach played club football alongside Naomh Anna, Leitir Moir prior to transferring onto St Vincents, and is an ex-county footballer on The Galway senior football team.

Breathnach was a former player of the Galway Senior Football Squad. Although he plays as an forward, he’s not a known prolific scorer. But, he is noted for his ability to control the ball in ball carrying, distribution and ball carrying. His debut came with Peter Forde in 2006 as an extra in an SFC qualifying match against Westmeath. Breathnach was selected to start the game, but was not able to make it into the starting squad because of illness. One of his career highlights was the crucial goal which he scored in the Connacht SFC final against Mayo.

Breathnach captained his club Naomh Anna, Leitir Móir to the Galway Intermediate Football Championship in 2009 and also the Connacht Intermediate Club title. Leitir Móir eventually lost to Cookstown Fr. Rock’s from Tyrone in the All-Ireland series on 24 January 2010 at Pearse Park, Longford.

He went on to win an “Fresher A Interversity’ title with NUI, Galway in 2005. They beat Cork IT in the final. Breathnach was the goal scorer for both teams of the Galway team. In the following year, he took home his first All-Ireland U-21 Football Championship with Galway.

NUI,Galway reached the semi finals of the competition in both years but were defeated by Killerarin and Cortoon Shamrocks respectively. He also captained the NUI,Galway Men’s Senior Gaelic Football Team in the “Sigerson” interversity competition in 2008.
