Esterina Tartman (Hebrew: Astrynh TrTmn , born on November 9, 1957) is an Israeli politician from Israel. She was one of the members in the Knesset for Yisrael Beiteinu between 2006 and 2009.

In January 2007, Tartman introduced a bill to the Knesset that would limit the power that the Supreme Court to overturn government laws. In the course of the month, Tartman was in the news after declaring that Labour’s choice of Raleb Majadele who is a Muslim Arab for a Ministerial post was an “lethal blow to Zionism”. Majadele’s Ministerial appointment was confirmed in a cabinet vote but Yisrael Beiteinu leader Avigdor Lieberman did not vote.

Despite her controversial comments in February 2007 Lieberman proposed her nomination to fill the post of Tourism Minister that was vacated in the past by Isaac Herzog during a cabinet change brought about by Yisrael Beiteinu’s joining the coalition of Ehud Olmert. In her response, Israeli Arab MK Ahmad Tibi declared that the decision is “a lethal blow to sanity and tolerance”. Since her election she has announced that she will propose revoking nationality of Israeli Arabs and ultra-Orthodox Jews who have refused to declare their commitment to Israel. The controversy grew when the leading publication Yedioth Ahronoth revealed that she has no master’s degree, despite her claiming it on her CV and on interviews with the media. In spite of Lieberman insisting that she was the only candidate for the party after a lot of pressure from the media, Tartman announced that she had withdrawn her candidacy for the job, and Yitzhak Aharonovich named as her successor.

Prior to her political career, Tartman won a claim in the High Court that she was “52% disabled” and that she could only work four hours a day due to a car accident she had been involved in during the mid–1990s, though the limitation only applied for one year. She was also awarded 2.5 million shekels. The claim detailed that she had memory, concentration and attention problems. When beginning her political career she stated that the “Knesset is easy work – inconsistent and consisting mostly of talk”.
