Castellazzi was promoted to Serie A by Brescia in the summer 2000. On 21 January 2001, he made his Serie A debut against Vicenza. He was the first choice for the team in the 2001-02 season. However, he lost his place to Matteo Sereni during the following season. He was loaned to Reggina in 2002-03 season and Catania in 2003-03. In 2004, he returned to the team as a regular starter in the 2004-05 season. He played in all 38 Serie A matches. Castellazzi was initially the first choice for 2003-04 season. However, Federico Agliardi took his place after matchday 4, and he regained his spot on matchday 23.
Castellazzi signed a two-year contract with Sampdoria after Brescia was relegated from Serie B in 2005. Luigi Turci gave him the number one shirt. He was Francesco Antonioli’s backup in the first season. Castellazzi played only the three matches that Antonioli missed.
After the injury during 2009–10 season, Castellazzi lost his starting place to Marco Storari, and in February 2010, it was rumoured he had signed a pre- contract with Internazionale.
