On April 6th, 2007, Gould was featured in the show Larry King Live hosted by talk show host Jimmy Kimmel during a panel discussion entitled “Paparazzi: Do they go too far?” During the interview Kimmel claimed Gould of a lack of responsibility in journalism that resulted from her popular blog and her “Gawker Stalker” feature, which let users update the locations of famous people within New York City. Kimmel suggested the possibility of aiding real stalkers, and said the possibility that Gould and her site could be the cause of the death of someone else, and that Gawker.com’s contents were often untrue. Gould declared that the section on Gawker.com represented “citizen journalism” and went on to claim that nobody expected all the information on the site to be truthful. The interview was a source of media attention, and resulted in an overwhelming negative response from Gould.
