Diamond gained notoriety during her breakout year of 2016 after her first victory in the British Championships over the 400 meters distance, she won an gold medal at the 4-x 400 metre relay in the European Athletics Championships as part of the Great Britain team, followed by a bronze in that same event in the 2016 Summer Olympics.
In the 2012 UK Olympic Trials in Birmingham Diamond completed the race in 53.36 seconds, finishing 4th in the race’s final, 400m. The result led to her being chosen as a reserve in the women’s 4×400 metres relay team in the Great Britain at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Diamond was selected in spite of Diamond having only ran the distance in competition for six times in outdoor competition.
Diamond was chosen for the Great Britain team at the 2011 World University Games held in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. In the 200m race, she made it to the finals and placed eighth. Diamond also competed in a leg in the four-x 400 metre relay, winning bronze as part of a team that included Kelly Massey, Charlotte Best and Meghan Beesley.

Diamond began her athletics career while studying at Bristol Grammar School and while she was there, she took first place in the junior girls competition at Bristol Schools Cross-Country Championships. In 2009, as a representative of Avon she took home her the English Schools’ senior girls 200m title.
In the 2010 World Junior Championships in Athletics held in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, Diamond made the final of the 200 meter race and was placed in sixth place with an average in the range of 23.62 seconds.
She won a bronze medal in the 4 × 400 metres relay at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.
