Margalik was the youngest of three brothers was raised within Mississauga until he moved to Richmond Hill, Ontario. He was a student at Silverthorn Collegiate Institute, then was graduated from Richmond Green Secondary School in June of 2016. He is now enrolled at Western University in London, Ontario where he serves as assistant director of hockey and the captain of their Varsity Figure Skating Team.

In August of 2015, Margalik won Argentina’s first ISU Junior Grand Prix medal and took silver at the 2014 JGP at Bratislava, Slovakia. In February the team placed 17th at the Four Continents in Taipei. In March of 2016 he took part in the World Championships in Boston, as the first figure skater representing Argentina in history.

Margalik was the first player to debut in Argentina in September of 2014, finishing fourth in the ISU Junior Grand Prix in Japan. Making his international debut for a senior He placed seventh in the 2014 Skate Canada Autumn Classic, which was a element of the ISU Challenger Series. In February of 2015 the skater competed at his very first ISU Championship, the Four Continents in Seoul, South Korea. It was the first time that an Argentine skater has competed at this year’s Four Continents Championships. It marks the first occasion that that a male skater from Argentina at the ISU Championship. Denis Margalik (born June 3 1997) is a Argentine Figure skater. He was the first skater from Argentina to earn an award in the ISU Junior Grand Prix series and was awarded the bronze medal in the JGP Bratislava in 2015. He was the only male skating athlete to represent Argentina at the ISU Championship, appearing at Four Continents in 2015 and at the World Championships in 2016.

Margalik began skating in 2005. He was his first trainer Robert O’Toole, who taught him for eight years, mostly on the Woodbine Winter Club in Toronto. Margalik’s initial career was affected by the disease Osgood-Schlatter that was a problem for his knees. In junior competitions Margalik was awarded his silver medal in the 2013 Canadian Championships and gold at the 2013 Mladost Trophy, which was his first international performance for Canada. The coaches changed later in 2013, and joined Andrei Berezintsev and Inga Zusev at the Richmond Training Centre in Richmond Hill, Ontario. He was awarded the junior national title during the 2014 Canadian Championships.
