On March 17, 2016 Generelo was named interim manager of his former club Oviedo following the resignation of Sergio Egea. After working for Zaragoza’s youth academy joined the former Elche manager Fran Escriba’s team of coaches in RC Celta de Vigo in March 2019.
After putting in 23 matches mostly on the bench – during the time Zaragoza made his return to the highest of the league after one year Generelo’s deal with the club was up. On the 22nd of July, 2009, Generelo signed with Elche CF in a 2+1 contract.

The birthplace of Generelo was Badajoz, Extremadura, Generelo came through the CD Badajoz’s local youth academy. He signed with Real Zaragoza in January 2000 and then being placed in the reserves of the 3rd division. He made his debut with the first team in 2002-03’s second phase and from that point on was regularly employed by the Aragonese but was never a definite participant, and he was instrumental in helping the club achieve the Copa del Rey in his first season of professional football.
In 2006-07 Generelo played a loan stint at newly-promoted Gimnastic de Tarragona, appearing frequently when the Catalans were quickly relegated to La Liga. The following season was cut short after just four games because of a major foot injury.
