Newcastle had their first win in six league matches in the 1994-95 campaign, and it was rumored that they would win winning their first top-flight championship since 1927. While on loan at Wolves, Peacock collided with his own goalkeeper, Michael Oakes, in a match against Fulham, suffering damaged vertebrae in his neck and compression to his spine. After more than 100 league appearances with QPR, Peacock was purchased by Kevin Keegan of Newcastle United on the 24th of March 1994 for PS2.7 million. The goal was to improve their defense during their debut season in Premier League. A sell-on provision meant the club Hereford got a amount in the region of $440,000 that is still in February of this year the highest transfer fee they have ever that they have received.
