Daria Popova is one of the most popular and richest Figure Skater who was born on July 28, 1993 in Moscow, Russia. Daria Popova (born 28 July 1993) is a Russian former pair skater in competitive pairs. From 2011 until 2014 she skated alongside Bruno Massot, winning the 2014 Challenge Cup and the 2012 French national title. The duo placed in the top ten of the 2011 and 2013 European Championships. Popova was also a short time skater for France alongside Andrei Novoselov.
For the season 2012-2013, Popova/Massot were awarded the honor of two Grand Prix assignments — they finished in fifth place during the 2012 Skate Canada International, and seventh in the 2011 Trophee Eric Bompard. They finished second to James/Cipres in the French Championships and then placed seventh at the 2013 European Championships. In 2013, the World Championships, James/Cipres earned two places in France in the pair event during the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. With France’s second-ranked team, Popova and Massot could get the second Olympic spot , if she obtained French citizenship by the time.
In 2013–14, Popova had a problem with the sole of one of her boots at the start of the season. She and Massot placed eighth at their first Grand Prix assignment, the 2013 Cup of China. Popova then ceased training for six weeks due to a stress fracture in the third metatarsal bone of her left foot, causing the pair to withdraw from the 2013 Trophée Eric Bompard and French Championships. Having resumed training in mid-December 2013, the pair elected to reduce the difficulty of some elements for the 2014 European Championships in January. They finished 11th at Europeans in Budapest. On 21 January 2014, it was reported that Popova had not received French citizenship in time and France’s second spot would be transferred to Austria. Popova/Massot finished 15th at the 2014 World Championships after placing 15th in both segments of the competition. After the competition, Massot left their partnership to skate with Aliona Savchenko.
Popova along with French skating sensation Bruno Massot decided to team together in March of this year and began their serious practice in June. They were primarily training on the ice in Caen, France with Jean-Francois Ballester. In the first year they also took part in training for three weeks per month together with Ingo Steuer Ingo Steuer in Chemnitz, Germany.

Popova began skating in Moscow. She began as a singles skater, and she competed at levels of Nachwuchs as well as Jugend level in Germany between 2006 and 2007. She started pairs skating after 2009 and began training under instructor Ingo Steuer, who is from Germany. She skated alongside Ilja Glebov as well as Sergei Karev but she did not participate with or in any major events.
Their first event with each other included the Master’s de Patinage, where they were awarded their silver trophy. They placed tenth on their first international appearance in the 2011 Coupe de Nice and placed fourth in the 2011 NRW Trophy. In December of 2011, they took home their 2012. French National title, beating Vanessa James / Morgan Cipres. The delays in obtaining visas and the administrative process resulted in uncertainty regarding their participation in the 2012 European Championships but the situation was resolved shortly before the competition. Popova/Massot finished sixth in the short-course competition in the short program and 8th overall. They weren’t selected for at the 2012 World Championships, but they were included in the French team that competed in winning the World Team Trophy.
After spending a week in mid-May 2014 helping Brian Joubert learn pair skating in Caen, Popova flew to Moscow in search of a new partner. On July 16, 2014, she announced she would skate for France with Andrei Novoselov and said they planned to divide their training between Moscow, coached by Inna Utkina, and Paris, coached by Claude Péri. However, Popova decided to retire from competitive figure skating on July 31, 2015.
