On the 1st of July of the 1st of July, 2008 Roussin wasn’t eligible for for a deal from the Los Angeles Kings, therefore becoming an unrestricted free agent. Roussin didn’t receive offers from of the teams in the off-season which is why he thought about going for Europe until he got an offer by the Bakersfield Condors. Roussin began the season at an training session with the Milwaukee Admirals. After five games, during which Roussin scored three points Roussin went to Bakersfield in search of France.

Dany was picked by the 1st round (5th overall) of the QMJHL Entry Draft by the Sherbrooke Beavers. After two seasons playing for the Beavers and being mostly playing the defensive position in Sherbrooke, Roussin was traded to the Rimouski Oceanic. It was at Rimouski that Roussin began to show his offensive potential. He’d finish 2003 with a point-per-game average of 38 points over 38 games. This would be enough to allow Roussin to be recognized from his fellow team, the Florida Panthers, who chose to select Roussin in 7th place with the 223rd choice in the NHL Entry Draft. In the following year, he concluded the season in the top spot of in the QMJHL in scoring goals with 59 across 64 games, and was second behind his teammate Sidney Crosby in points. In the 2004-05 season Roussin was able to put up similar figures. He finished 2nd in scoring as he beat fellow teammate the likely Edmonton Oilers 1st round pick Marc-Antoine Pouliot by two points and ended up 52 points back of Sidney Crosby. Rimouski was a 1-2-3 scorer in the entire season. The season was a boost to Roussin’s draft standing, as his team, the Los Angeles Kings drafted Roussin in the second round of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft with the 50th selection.

On the 16th of August in the year 2005 Roussin agreed to sign a 3 year entry- level contract with the Los Angeles Kings. Roussin was a part of the team for three seasons shifting among Los Angeles’ ECHL affiliate as well as The Reading Royals and their American Hockey League affiliate, Manchester Monarchs. Roussin returned to North America in 2009 and signed with Saint-Georges COOL- FM of the LNAH. In his first season with the team, Roussin scored 52 points in 42 games and was voted LNAH Rookie Of The Year by the league. In the midst of his fifth season with Saint-Georges, Roussin opted to extend his LNAH career with a trade to Jonquière Marquis on January 8, 2014.
