Following the 2011 season Toronto and Borman were unable to agree on terms and Borman decided to take part in his first MLS Re-Entry Draft. Borman was picked to be selected by New England Revolution in Stage 1. The draft took place on the 5th of December, 2011. New England and Borman never agreed on terms Borman was later signed to join ABSA Premiership side SuperSport United. Borman was let go at the request of SuperSport United at the end of the 2012-13 Premier Soccer League season.

He joined Mpumalanga Black Aces in September 2013 on a 1-year deal.

Borman signed with Vasco da Gama (South Africa) in August 2014.

Borman was selected 7th overall at the time of the 2009 MLS Supplemental Draft by New York Red Bulls. The first time he played professionally was on April 5, 2008, appearing as a substitute for half-time in the match against Columbus Crew. The goal was his first Major League Soccer goal against the Los Angeles Galaxy on 10 May 2008, and finished his first season with MLS playing in 15 games as a goal scorer. In 2009, Borman played both in midfield and as left back. The season ended as the club’s first left back, playing in 24 league games as well as scoring a goal. Following the conclusion season MLS campaign, Borman went on a training trip with Argentine team Gimnasia La Plata.

Borman started his professional career in the youth program that is part of South African Premier Soccer League club Santos prior to moving into in the United States in 2004 to play in the college soccer league in the University of Rhode Island. He was named the A-10’s The Rookie of the Year 2004 having scored five assists and two goals. He won an A-10 Championship Most Outstanding Player Award for his role in playing in his team the Rams in their 2-0 victory against St. Louis University in the 2006 Championship Game, and was named as a member of the Atlantic 10 All-Conference second team in 2007, after completing his final season with a score and 7 assists. Borman scored 17 assists and seven goals during his four seasons in Rhode Island.

The 2007 and 2006 seasons Borman was also a part of his team the Rhode Island Stingrays in the USL Premier Development League. The year 2006 was the time he dominated in scoring for the Stingrays by scoring seven times including a hat- trick, in an 6-0 victory against Vermont Voltage on 2 July 2006. Borman was traded to Toronto FC on 1 April 2011 along with teammate Tony Tchani and a 2012 SuperDraft 1st round draft pick for Dwayne De Rosario. The following day Borman made his debut for Toronto in a 1–1 home draw against Chivas USA.
