Daisuke Sekimoto is one of the most popular and richest Japanese professional wrestler who was born on February 9, 1981 in Osaka, Osaka Prefecture, Japan. Daisuke Sekimoto (Guan Da Jie, Sekimoto Da Jie, Sekimoto Daisuke) (born on February 9th 1982) is a Japanese professional wrestler currently signed by Big Japan Pro Wrestling in the division called Strong BJ. Sekimoto is also famous for his participation at Pro Wrestling Zero1 Max. He has been triple-time BJW World Heavyweight Champion. He is also being an ex-one-time NWA Pan-Pacific Premium Heavyweight Champion and a one- time WXW Unified World Wrestling Champion and twice Zero1 World Heavyweight Champion. Other important singles titles are The BJW Heavyweight Championship as well as the KO-D Openweight Championship and the Strongest-K Championship. In addition, he is a highly successful Tag team wrestler he’s won Tag Team Championships such as the AJPW World Tag Team Championship three times and The All Asia Tag Team Championship twice as well as the BJW Tag Team Championship nine times, and the KO-D Tag Team Championship two times. His most successful tag team combo being Yuji Okabayashi.
While 2003 and 2004 were generally uneventful for Sekimoto Sekimoto, 2005 started with a bang when he won his first New Generation Battle Tournament by beating HERO! during the championship match on the 9th of January. In the past, Sekimoto would compete in many variations of hardcore wrestling like barbed wire tag-team death matches Fluorescent lighttubes Tag team Death match as well as the prison hall Death Match, Sekimoto also wrestled in the RIKI-PRO and Apache Pro Wrestling frequently. On the 14th of October, Sekimoto teamed up with Abdullah Kobayashi to win his second BJW Tag Team Championship. The year 2006 began with a sluggish start because Sekimoto and Kobayashi were unable to defend their titles against Mammoth Sasaki as well as Shadow WX the 27th of January. In February of 2010 Sekimoto won against Shuji Ishikawa in the Openweight Championship of KO-D. After several fights Sekimoto lost his title against Harashima on the 25th of July. He was back next year during the same month to participate in a four-way elimination game to win the KO-D Tag Team Championship and joined forces with Masa Takanashi to win. They lost the title on the 28th of August in a rematch with Danshoku Dino as well as Kota Ibushi. Sekimoto started teaming up with Yoshihito Sasaki to participate at the BJW Tag Team Championship Tournament and made it to the finals that took place on April 28th in 2010, but was defeated by Jaki Numazawa, and Jun Kasai. On the 10th of October, Sekimoto and Sasaki defeated Numazawa and Kasai to win a six-time winner of the BJW Tag Team Championship but they would lose their title Numazawa as well as Kasai. Sekimoto as well as Kazuki Hashimoto participated in the year-long tag tournament known as Dainichi-X 2011, but failed to achieve enough points to make it to the final. Sekimoto along with Yuji Okabayashi participated in the Big Japan Tag League 2011 and were crowned champions. On September 8th on the 8th of September, 2013, Sekimoto was the host of the first event of the promotion Wrestle-1 that Keiji Mutoh teamed up with following his departure from All Japan. Together with his partner of the same name Yuji Okabayashi, the pair were able to defeat Kaz Hayashi as well as Shuji Kondo during a tag-team match.
In October 2008, Sekimoto made his Chikara debut, participating in the promotion’s Global Gauntlet weekend. In April 2010, Sekimoto, along with Kankuro Hoshino and Yuji Okabayashi, to take part in Chikara’s King Of Trios tournament as Team Big Japan, reaching the semifinals before being eliminated by Bruderschaft des Kreuzes, who went on to win the tournament. Next year, Sekimoto and Okabayashi defeated Oberhausen Terror Corps to become the number one contenders for the wXw World Tag Team Championship and would lose their championship match to the champions The Switchblade Conspiracy. On January 15, 2012, Sekimoto defeated Big van Walter for the wXw Unified World Wrestling Championship and would lose the championship back to him on March 3. On October 3, 2013, Sekimoto returned to wXw to take part in the 2013 World Triangle League. Three days later, he defeated Jonathan Gresham and Zack Sabre, Jr. in the finals to win the tournament. In 2015 at the 15th Anniversary Tour Finale, Sekimoto unsuccessfully challenged Karsten Beck for the wXw Unified World Wrestling Championship.

Daisuke Sekimoto made his professional debut in Big Japan Pro Wrestling on August 10, 1999 , defeating Ryuji Ito. As is the norm in professional wrestling, particularly for Japan, Sekimoto lost the majority of his matches throughout his first few years of professional wrestling. Sekimoto won his first ever match on the 27th of March 2000, when he team together with Daikokubo Benkei to take down Guerrero del Futuro and Ryuji Ito. In January of 2001 Sekimoto was paired with the MEN’s Teioh and beat Kamikaze as well as Abdullah Kobayashi to become the BJW Tag Team Champions. it was the first championship Sekimoto ever won. This team comprised of Sekimoto and Teioh proved to be highly successful, and, in conjunction with their participation in the BJW Tag Team Championship, they were able to defeat Kintaro Kanemura, and Ryuji Yamakawa to win the FMW/WEW Heavycore Tag Team Championship and would keep it for more than 100 days, before losing the title to Jun Kasai and The Winger on March 21 2002. In addition to being the holders of the BJW Tag Team Championship, Sekimoto was a challenger to Daikokubo Benjaminkei for Daikokubo Benkei for the BJW Heavyweight Championship and on August 18, 2002, he defeated Benkei to win the title. It became the singles’ first award of his professional career. As the holder of each of BJW Tag Team Championship and the BJW Heavyweight Championship as well as the BJW Tag Team Championship, Sekimoto was on top of the game in Big Japan but this would be a short period. There were cracks with regards to the friendship among Sekimoto as well as Teioh and on September 15of 2002 they were beaten out of their BJW Tag Team Championship to Benkei Daikokuboh and Abdullah Kobayashi. Sekimoto debuted for Pro Wrestling Zero1 by taking part in the Fire Festival 2001 where he gained no points and there could not progress further. He returned in 2006, once again participating in the Fire Festial but would do a little better by defeating Kohei Sato which left Sekimoto with two points. On March 8, 2007, Sekimoto defeated Ryouji Sai to become the NWA United National Heavyweight Champion. As champion he participated in Fire Festival 2007 and once again fared poorly, gaining three points. On November 13, Sekimoto lost the NWA United National Heavyweight Championship to Yoshihito Sasaki. In block B of the Fire Festival 2008, Sekimoto gained three points and therefore didn’t progress further and in next years Fire Festival 2009 gained five points, he was joint top in block B with Masato Tanaka and Ryouji Sai and therefore a decision three-way match took place which Sai won.
