Cory Nelms (born February 27 1988) is an ex- American football player who was a cornerback in the National Football League (NFL). He played for the college team in the University of Miami and attended Neptune High School in Neptune Township, New Jersey. He was a part of the San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raiders.

On the 19th of November 2012. Nelms joined the training team from the Oakland Raiders of the NFL. He was elevated onto the roster active on the 28th of December 2012. He played in just one contest with the Raiders on December 30, 2012 in a game against their rivals the San Diego Chargers. The Raiders released him by Raiders on August 25, 2013.

Nelms was signed by Nelms signed with San Francisco 49ers of the NFL on July 27, 2011, after not being selected at the time of the 11th NFL Draft. The 49ers released him from the 49ers on September 3, and then signed to the practice squad of the team on September 4, 2011. He was granted a futures contract with the 49ers on January 24 the 24th of January, 2012. Nelms had his contract terminated by the 49ers on August 27, 2012.

Nelms played track and field as well as football as part of the Neptune High School Scarlet Fliers. On the field of football, Nelms was a 2005 PrepStar Preseason All-American and earned All-Region honours. He holds the record of the school for the hurdles 400m (50.75) and was part of the foursome who ran the UM world record in the time of 39.57 seconds for the relay 4x100m.
