After a year of not having an organization and trying to heal from the injuries that was caused by a rare variant of the foot illness (Leveraus Morb) that had plagued him for the last three seasons, he resigned with Genoa of the Serie C1/A in September of 2005. As a member of Genoa it was promoted up to Serie B on playoffs scoring 9 goals over the course of 25 games. Prior to the return playoff final, Grabbi announced he was thinking of retiring from football due to his physical condition however, he later announced the decision was made forward by Genoa supporters and teammates and Genoa’s President Enrico Preziosi. Preziosi however decided that Genoa was not in need of Grabbi at all, and so in the winter transfer window of 2007, Grabbi signed for Arezzo who were still playing in Serie B, having not made an appearance during the opening part of the season for Genoa. After being relegated with Arezzo with no goals scored, Grabbi signed a contract with AC Bellinzona, a team that plays in the Swiss Challenge League (second division). Ciccio scored the winner (his first goal in more than a season) at the Swiss Cup game Bellinzona-Gossau: 1-1 2-1.
In a loan period returning to Italy with Messina He made two strikes in Messina’s final league game, and helped save Messina from being relegated. After his return to England however, he was unable to regain his form and was unable to do so after another sixteen games and the scoring of three times (against Liverpool in the league, CSKA Sofia in the UEFA Cup and Walsall in the League Cup) with Blackburn and Blackburn, who had signed former Manchester United forwards Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole He was then permitted back home to Italy in the long run and join Ancona at the end of 2004.

In Turin, Grabbi began his career as a player for Turin’s Juventus youngsters. Grabbi is the grandchild of the former Juventus striker Giuseppe Grabbi. He was elevated to first-team status and scored his first goal against Lazio in just one of his two appearances during the season 1994-1995. He was not able to make it into the squad, due to his age and the current flurry of Alessandro de Piero, the loan was granted to Lucchese (76 games and 7 goals) and later Chievo (18 games two goals) before moving to Modena. In Modena, he began to show real form and scored 30 goals in 58 games. The performance led to him being signed by Ternana and he stayed for a season, before being transferred to Ravenna where the score was 13 goals. After his return to Ternana it was his turn to be an unstoppable scorer, scoring 20 goals in 34 games. He was a hero for the fans of the club who remember him as the most successful player to ever play for Ternana.
The prolific season that Grabbi had in Ternana was a reason why he attracted the interest from a variety of Serie A clubs, including Udinese and AC Milan. However, it appears that Luciano Moggi of Juventus, who had earlier pushed Grabbi to switch his agent and sign with GEA World with no success was able to block Ciccio to join Italy and in 2001 the club signed him to Blackburn Rovers for a record price that was PS6.75 millions in the month of July. However, due to personal and physical reasons, he was unable to achieve the same success, scoring only once in 14 league matches, with his goal being scored in a 1-0 victory over Everton. He scored another goal before being loaned to Messina for the FA Cup against Barnsley. His loan departure from the club resulted in him not being able to participate in their win in the 2002 League Cup Final. The move of Grabbi towards Blackburn is widely thought of as one of the most disastrous transfer moves in time in the Premier League. When he spoke to an Italian television station Grabbi said that he struggled to adapt to the British conditions and the game and he also admitted that he was having difficulty difficult to make a mark in the players.
Grabbi was also directly involved in the Calciopoli scandal of summer 2006 as a victim: It was in fact only then that Ciccio could tell the media what Luciano Moggi had done to affect his career: after Ciccio Grabbi had refused to drop his agent in favour of Luciano Moggi’s son, Moggi told him “you will never play football again, if not in my garden!” Grabbi was propriety of Juventus until he was sold to Ternana.
