The passion she had for the sport diminished over the following three years and she quit competing completely in 2007 following a poor performance during the nation’s championships. Moore had stopped taking pleasure in the sport and felt it was stressful. Talks between her and Paralympic winner April Holmes and a chance meeting with Al Joyner led to Moore returning to her track career in the year 2009. Moore worked under the direction by Al Joyner as she made her return in the 2010 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships with her first national championship in the 200 meters. The winning time of 22.40 seconds was the fourth fastest competitor that season, and was the second fastest American following Allyson Felix. She then went on to compete for her country in the Americas squad at the 2010 IAAF Continental Cup and she finished fourth in the 200m, a place behind Cydonie Mothersille.

In the indoor season of 2003, she placed second in the 200m race at the NCAA Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championship and placed 3rd during the NCAA Outdoors later that season. In her final season in Penn State she won both Outdoor Big 10 sprint events and was third in the 200m during the NCAA Indoors and reached both sprint finals at the NCAA Outdoors. She was the only athlete to earn NCAA All-America honours for the Penn State Nittany Lions. She earned her degree in psychology at the beginning of 2004.
