Through 132/3 innings (26 games, with 25 of them being started), Greene went 5-10 with an 5.29 ERA and 92 strikeouts. Greene continued to struggle with his control, allowing an 83-foot walk. Greene was a student at Santa Monica High School, where Greene recorded an 1.63 earned run rate (ERA) as well as 76 strikes during his senior year. He was selected with the Blue Jays in the seventh round of the 2013 Major League Baseball draft. Greene had signed a commitment to attend Southern Nevada’s College of Southern Nevada, but he opted to join the Blue Jays for $100,000 rather than go to school. Greene was transferred to the rookie-level Gulf Coast League Blue Jays for the 2013 season which included a 1-0 record, 5.28 ERA, and 20 strikeouts in 30/3 of innings. Greene split his 2014 season between Blue Jays from the GCL Blue Jays and the Rookie Advanced Bluefield Blue Jays and had 3-4 records, 3.03 ERA, and 51 strikeouts in 59/3 of innings pitched.
Greene started the season of 2015 as a Class A Lansing Lugnuts, where he had a win-loss record of 7-3, 3.88 ERA, and 65 strikeouts over the 67/3 innings before being moved into the advanced-a Dunedin Blue Jays. Greene made his debut with Dunedin the 4th of July, and lost with four runs allowed in nine innings. On the 6th of August, Greene set a career-high in strikeouts with 10 and pitched seven innings of shutout relief for Dunedin. Greene was moved to Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats, and won in his first start on August 13 pitching six shutout innings in his first game against The Akron RubberDucks. Greene had 26 starts during the 2015 season and posted an overall record of 12-7, 3.54 ERA, and 115 strikeouts over 132/3 innings.
On January 19, 2018, the Blue Jays traded Greene (along with Dominic Leone) to the St. Louis Cardinals for Randal Grichuk. He began the 2018 season with the Double-A Springfield Cardinals and was promoted to the Triple-A Memphis Redbirds in June. In forty games (ten starts) between the two clubs, he pitched to a 4-5 record with a 4.09 ERA and a 1.58 WHIP. After the season, the Cardinals assigned him to the Surprise Saguaros of the Arizona Fall League.
