Clifford Taubes is one of the most popular and richest Professor Of Mathematics who was born on February 21, 1954 in New York, United States. Clifford Henry Taubes (born February 21st 1954) is the William Petschek Professor of Mathematics at Harvard University and works in gauge field theory, differential geometry as well as low-dimensional topology. Gary Taubes, his brother Gary Taubes, is a scientist and writer.
In the past (in Taubes 2007), with the help of Seiberg-Witten Floer homology, as proposed through Peter Kronheimer and Tomasz Mrowka in conjunction with some fresh estimates of the spectral flow of Dirac operators, and some of the methods that were developed in Taubes 2000 Taubes established the time-tested Weinstein conjecture that applies to any three-dimensional contact manifold and established it that there is a Reeb vector field of this manifold has an open orbit. In addition to this, and the equivalence between seiberg-witten and Gromov variables, Taubes proved (in a sequence of preprints that began by Taubes 2008. harvnb error: No targets: CITEREFTaubes2008 (help) ) that a 3-manifold’s homology of contact embedded is isomorphic to an equivalent of Seiberg-Witten Floer cohomology. In the last few years, Taubes, C. Kutluhan and Y-J. Lee have demonstrated that embedded homology is an isomorphism in Heegaard Floer homology.
In a set of four papers from the early 1990s (collected within Taubes 2000), Taubes proved that when he studied a closed symplectic , four-manifold there is a (gauge-theoretic) Seiberg-Witten invariant equal to an invariant that lists certain pseudoholomorphic curves. It is now referred to by the name of the Taubes’s Gromov invariant. This discovery has revolutionized mathematicians’ understanding about the topology of the symplectic four- manifolds.

Clifford Taubes is one of the richest Professor Of Mathematics from United States. According to our analysis, Wikipedia, Forbes & Business Insider, Clifford Taubes 's net worth $5 Million. (Last Update: December 11, 2023)
Taubes earned his Ph.D. in physics in 1980 under the supervision under the direction of Arthur Jaffe, having proven results gathered in (Jaffe Taubes and Taubes 1980) on whether there exist solutions to vortex equations of Landau- Ginzburg and Bogomol’nyi’s monopole equations.
He soon began applying his gauge theory expertise to pure math. His research on the boundaries of the moduli space of solutions to Yang-Mills equations was employed in Simon Donaldson in his proof of Donaldson’s theorem. He proved (Taubes 1987) that R is an uncountable quantity of smooth structure (see the also the exotic R) and (with Raoul Bott in Bott & Taubes 1989) proved Witten’s rigidity theorem for the elliptic species.
