Cliff Lett is one of the most popular and richest Athlete who was born on September 18, 1957 in Long Beach, California, United States. Clifton Bradley Lett (born September 18th 1957) is an American retired radio- controlled racer, and the present director of Associated Electrics, where he started his R/C racing career in the year 1985. Formerly, he was a motorcross mechanic for Yamaha (particularly to Ricky Johnson), he was the winner of seven ROAR National Championships as well as three NORRCA National Championships and the 1991 IFMAR World Championship and was one of the most prominent drivers in the 1980s. Lett was referred to by the nickname “the Buggymaster”, helped to improve his Associated RC10 and other models within the range. The first car driver to go over 100 miles an hour (160 km/h) in a car controlled by radio that was recorded in Guinness World Records at 111 miles per hour (179 km/h) in 2001.

After he stumbled upon an event close to Whittier, California in 1985, Lett was introduced to racer Jay Halsey and contacted Associated Electrics executives Mike Reedy, Roger Curtis and Gene Hustings. In April of 1988 the time a job became available at Team Associated’s department of research and development, Lett was appointed a manager of product development. The RC10 began to look old, and Lett was instrumental in making the car more competitive.

Lead designer Lett attempted a new record on January 13, 2001, aiming to exceed 100 miles per hour (160 km/h) over a two way pass with the help of Team Associated, promoter Dan Moynihan and Irwindale Speedway. He used a modified TC3 and a RC10L3O, the latter adapted to accommodate an Aveox sensorless brushless motor designed for aircraft and fed by 24 sub-C NiCad batteries. The body was a 1/10 version of a Nissan P35 by Protoform, modified to reduce drag. Further modification was made over five days to prevent the body from deforming at speed, adding a wing from a 1/10 buggy for increased downforce and straightaway stability.

Lett was the first driver to exceed 100 miles per hour (160 km/h) with a radio-controlled car, according to Guinness World Records. He held the record until it was broken by Nic Case in 2006 at 134.4 miles per hour (216.3 km/h), and in 2014 Case was the first to reach 200 miles per hour (320 km/h).

Lett started his radio-controlled journey using a gasoline powered airplane and took it on tours and flying whenever time allowed. The first radio- controlled vehicle he owned was an Associated RC12E. In the course of his travels, Lett raced his car in the parking lot until racer Johnny O’Mara destroyed it by driving it into the wheels of a car. The car was destroyed in November of 1984. following an off-road race during business and purchasing the Cox Tomahawk at Hobby Shack and took home his first win. After Lett was a mechanic, the mechanic worked at home during weekends and worked in working during week. racing was less frequent until in 1986. He started conducting research in the field of development and research.

The arrangement succeeded, and Masami Hirosaka won his second IFMAR 2WD world championship.
