Clara Petrozzi is one of the most popular and richest Musicologist who was born on December 30, 1965 in Lima, Lima Region, Peru. Her uncle is Finnish flutist Mikael Shelasvuo. In 1972, she began her studies on the violin at Lima in Peru and Quito, Ecuador with Dee Martz, Manuel Diaz, Mario Ortiz, Egon Fellig and Yolanda Kronberger. When she was in Lima she performed as part of various chamber ensembles as well as young people’s orchestras. She has played as soloist viola with the Peruvian National Symphony, the National Conservatory Symphony and the “Camerata de Lima” orchestras.

Petrozzi has given presentations and papers at seminars held at the Ibero- American Centre of the University of Helsinki in Finland, where she gave talks regarding Peruvian Orchestral Music (2003 2004, 2003) as well as in the New Winds in Musicology seminars at the University of Helsinki (2004, 2005, 2006, and 2008) and in the Finnish National Congress on Musicology at Tampere University (2008); and at the Congress “Multiculturalism and Arts” at the University of Turku (2008). In 2009, she delivered her research on the topic at the 28th International Congress of the Latin-American Studies Association. In 2006 she received the prize of Musicology from the National Conservatory of Peru. She also gave presentations to SysMus09, the SysMus09 Conference of 2009 in Gent, Belgium, and the Beyond the Centres Conference of 2010 in Thessaloniki, Greece.

Clara Petrozzi studied Musicology at the University of Helsinki; she also was a student of Composition and Orchestration under Harri Vuori from 1999 to
