The end of the 1982 NASL season The Sting was a part of in the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) during the NASL off-season. Fajkus was back in MISL as his team, the Kansas City Comets purchased his contract from the Earthquakes on September 19th in 1985. Fajkus was signed to a contract for two years and was with the team throughout the 1986-87 season. When the 1986-1987 season ended, he was a free agent. season, he was transferred back with his former club, the Chicago Sting for their last season. Fajkus quit playing professionally towards the end of the season.

In 1979 The Chicago Sting of the North American Soccer League (NASL) chose Fajkus as a participant in their NASL College Draft. Fajkus was immediately in the team, playing in 19 games. In the following five seasons, Fajkus was an integral part of the Sting when they won their first NASL championship. in 1984, Fajkus began the year with the Sting but was sold on the 10th of July in 1984, along alongside Ricardo Alonso to the Golden Bay Earthquakes in exchange for Manny Rojas and Hayden Knight.

Fajkus was born within Cicero, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago where he went to Burnham Grade School. He was a student at Wheaton Central High School between 1973 until 1975. While on the Wheaton boys soccer team the team scored 56 goals over 43 games. Hoosiers were the champions of 1978 due to the fact that San Francisco later vacated the title because of the involvement of an unqualified player.
