Carson Franklin Kelly, born July 14, 1994, is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Arizona Diamondbacks (MLB). From 2016 to 2018, he was a MLB catcher for the St. Louis Cardinals.
On September 4, 2016, the Cardinals bought Kelly’s contract and promoted him to the major leagues. He slugged.289/.343/.395 in 96 games between Springfield, Memphis and before his call up. He also had six home runs and 32 RBIs. On September 5, he made his major league debut at Pittsburgh. He hit a line drive double in the eighth inning and scored his first run. The Cardinals designated Kelly to the Glendale Desert Dogs (AFL) after the season. Kelly was also named Minor League Player of Year by the Cardinals in 2016.
Kelly returned to Memphis to begin 2017. He was recalled to St. Louis on July 21 and spent the remainder of the season there. In 68 games for Memphis he posted a .283 batting average with ten home runs and 41 RBIs, and in 34 games for St. Louis he batted .174/.240/.217.

Kelly accepted the change and started to transition in the 2013-14 offseason. In 2014, he played for Peoria and batting.248 with six homers and 49 RBIs in 99 games. He played the 2015 season for the Palm Beach Cardinals of Class A-Advanced Florida State League. He compiled a.219 average, eight home runs, and 51 RBIs over 108 games. He was awarded the 2015 minor league Rawlings Gold Glove Award to catchers and was ranked as the tenth best prospect in the Cardinals system before the 2016 season, according to Baseball America.

Kelly was a student at Westview High School in Beaverton and Stoller Middle School. He was a high school junior and participated in the national all-star high school game. He batted.257 in 113 games between the clubs, with six home runs as well as 45 RBIs.
Kelly began the 2016 season with the Springfield Cardinals of the Class AA Texas League. He was selected to the 2016 Texas League All-Star Game and to the 2016 All-Star Futures Game. Kelly was promoted to the Memphis Redbirds of the Class AAA Pacific Coast League on July 11, 2016.
