Carlos Trujillo, born February 25, 1983, is an American politician who serves as United States Ambassador at the Organization of American States. He is a member of the Republican Party and previously served four terms as a Florida House of Representatives Member from 2010 to his appointment as Ambassador. Trump declared in March 2020 that he would nominate Trujillo as the next Assistant Secretary for State for Western Hemisphere affairs and a member on the board of directors at the Inter-American Foundation.

Trump appointed Trujillo to the U.S. presidency in October 2017. Ambassador to the Organization of American States. Trujillo was voice-voted by the Senate to be confirmed. He expanded his representation to include large portions of rural Collier County. Paul Crespo presented a formidable challenge to Trujillo in the Republican primary. Trujillo received the endorsements of Jeb Bush (the former governor) and the Florida Chamber of Commerce and was able to defeat Crespo with 56% of votes. He won almost 100% of the vote in the general election after he was again confronted by write-in opposition.

Trujillo was born in Long Island, New York. He moved to Florida in 1988. He graduated from Spring Hill College in 2004 with a degree of business administration. In 2004, he went on to the Florida State University College of Law where he received his Juris Doctor in 2007. After graduating, he worked as an assistant state attorney at the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. He primarily dealt with felony cases. He started Trujillo Vargas LLC, which later evolved into Trujillo Vargas Gonzalez Hevia LLP.

Trujillo was elected to replace Marcelo Llorente, the incumbent State Representative. This district included The Hammocks (and Kendale Lakes), which are suburbs of Miami-Dade County. In the Republican primary, he faced ex-State Representative Carlos A. Manrique and Francisco Amador. He won with only 34% of the vote. Trujillo won 97% of the vote and advanced to the general elections. He faced no opposition in the write-in election.

In February 2018, he voted against a motion to consider an assault weapon ban.
