Brian Petrovek (born March 24 1955) is an American former goalie in ice hockey and executive of the hockey. He was chosen for the Los Angeles Kings in the 10th round (172nd overall) of the 1975 NHL Amateur Draft, and was also picked from the Edmonton Oilers in the 11th round (143rd overall) of the 1975 WHA Amateur Draft.

On the 16th of May in 2014. Petrovek became the new president of the Adirondack Flames of the AHL by the Calgary Flames. He was based at Glens Falls, New York at the time that the Calgary Flames moved their AHL franchise to Stockton, California, in 2015. In 2015, they took over the same job along with their ECHL team named called the Adirondack Thunder. In the year 2017, Petrovek became the president of the Stockton Heat of the AHL the AHL, a post in which he remained until he was fired in February of 2020.

From 2000 to April 14, 2014, Petrovek worked as the owner of the management team for The Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League (AHL). On March 22nd 2013 Petrovek agreed to a plea bargain for driving under the influence of alcohol after driving his vehicle through a divider when he was drunk more than three times the limit of legal.

Petrovek was a student at Harvard University, where he played NCAA Division I hockey with the Harvard Crimson of the ECAC Hockey conference. As a goalie, after his stellar 1974-75 sophomore year, Petrovek was named to both the All- Ivy League First Team and the NCAA (East) First All-American Team. In his senior season, Petrovek was selected for the 1976-77 All-Ivy League First Team, and was also named the most Valuable Player of the 1977 Beanpot. The year 1998 was the year Petrovek received induction into the Harvard University Athletic Hall of Fame.

From 1989 to 1993 Petrovek served as Vice Director of Marketing for The New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League. In June 1993 Petrovek was appointed to the staff of the national office from USA Hockey, and in 1998, he was promoted to the post of the Executive Director. While working for USA Hockey, Petrovek served as the Team Leader of the United States men’s national ice hockey team in the 1996 World Cup of Hockey the 1997 World Ice Hockey championships in addition to at the 1998 Winter Olympics.
