In the year 28 He decided to attempt running for the first time with prosthetic legs. His first race took place at an event called the HBF Run for a Reason over 12km. He competed in an ironman triathlon, which consisted of the 3.8 kilometers swim 180 km bicycle ride, and an 42.2 miles marathon. He was able to complete the triathlon in 11:49:20 which made him the very first Australian above-knee amputee to finish Ironman Triathlon.

In 2016, he was awarded the Western Australian Institute of Sport Personal Excellence Award for his efforts in setting up and flourishing personal branding business, titled noXcuses.
