Brandon Gormley (born February 18 in 1992) is an Canadian professional ice hockey defenseman who plays for Frolunda HC of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). He was chosen 13th overall by the Phoenix Coyotes in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. Through his junior playing career He has been selected on the QMJHL All-Rookie Team. Gormley was assigned to the Coyotes’ new AHL affiliate, the Portland Pirates, to begin his first full professional season in 2012–13 season. He appeared in 68 games with the Pirates and ranked second among the blueline with 24 assists and 29 points.

Gormley scored nine scores and scored 43 with the Wildcats in 2009-10, and added 17 more points during the playoffs, which was the third-highest total in the postseason among defencemen in the league. Gormley as well as the Wildcats took home the President’s Cup as QMJHL champions which earned them a spot for the 2010 Memorial Cup. Gormley scored three points over three games at the tournament but the Wildcats were unable to win all three games, and ultimately were eliminated. In his own way, he was as the winner from the Mike Bossy Award at the end of 2010 for being the league’s top professional player. In addition, he was named as a QMJHL Second-Team All-Star.

Gormley left the home he was at Prince Edward Island at the age of 14 and began playing in the Athol Murray college and Notre Dame’s soccer club at Wilcox, Saskatchewan. He played two seasons of hockey in the midget division with the Notre Dame Hounds in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League. In 2007-08 the team scored 53 and 23 goals in 42 games as 16 years old, and his team, the Moncton Wildcats made him the first overall pick during the 2009 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) Draft. He signed with in the Wildcats in 2008-09, and scored seven scores and scored 27 for Moncton over 62 contests. His work have earned him QMJHL All-Rookie Team honours.

With his junior season over, the Coyotes assigned him to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage. He played in four AHL games, recording an assist.
