On the 23rd of June, De Jong started training with SC Telstar. On July 29, 2016 the announcement was made the two parties signed to a one-year contract. De Jong made his debut with Telstar on the 20th September of 2016 at the KNVB Cup away match against JVC Cuijk (3-1 win). The following day De Jong was able to make his first Eerste Divisie league debut, taking over Wesley Zonneveld, who had been injured, during the 4th minute in their home game with FC Eindhoven (1-4 loss). On September 30 He made his debut in an away game with FC Den Bosch, keeping the first clean sheet of his career, as the game finished with a 0-0. A serious injury suffered from Zonneveld in January of 2017, De Jong became the primary goalkeeper at Telstar throughout the rest period of. The Telstar goalkeeper finished his first season at Telstar with a total of 20 league games and 22 overall. When the club began the 2017-18 season De Jong once again found him as a second-choice goalie, since the newly appointed head coach Mike Snoei preferred Rody de Boer as his goalkeeper for the first time.
On 5 August 2018, De Jong became a father. His partner gave birth to a daughter, named Philou Lovée.
On 22 June 2018, De Jong signed a contract extension, keeping him at the club for one more year. During the 2018–19 season, he again did not feature in an official match, being third-choice goalkeeper behind new signing Thomas Didillon and Boeckx. At the end of the season, his contract was not extended, upon which De Jong expressed his fondness of the club and having had the experience of UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League matches during his time there.
At the end of summer 2014 De Jong moved to PEC Zwolle on a no-cost transfer, and signed the contract for two seasons. In his debut season, he didn’t make any appearances in goal as the third choice following Warner Hahn and Kevin Begois. For the season 2015-16, Hahn quit Zwolle, however, De Jong remained third-choice, ahead of Begois and the newly signed Mickey van der Hart. However, on the 19th of December of 2015 De Jong made his debut in the Eredivisie in an away game against PSV after being replaced after just half an hour because of injuries to Begois. PEC Zwolle manager Ron Jans said that his team’s performance was “a fine job.” De Jong made one more appearance in the course of the season, beginning during the Europa League play-offs away match against FC Utrecht, which they were defeated by 5-2. Then, at the end of the season De Jong’s contract was not renewed.

As an Feyenoord Youth player De Jong played in different Netherlands youth national teams. He was the goalkeeper of the first team in the Netherlands team, which won in the 2010 European Under-17 Championship.
De Jong was born in Voorburg and was a member of the teams for youth of ADO Den Haag, before making the move to Feyenoord and becoming the goalie of choice in Feyenoord’s academy for youth. But he was not able to get a spot in the first team which included Erwin Mulder and Kostas Lamprou ahead of him in the list of players. In June 2013 the announcement was made in June 2013 that De Jong would be loaned to Excelsior for a year to gain experience in the first team. But, he could only be able to play in one match with Excelsior since coach Jon Dahl Tomasson and his replacement Marinus Dijkhuizen both favored Jordy Deckers to be the primary goalkeeper. Then, in January of 2014 De Jong criticised Feyenoord for not backing his team at Excelsior.
On 24 August 2017, it was announced that De Jong had joined Belgian champions Anderlecht, as a replacement for Davy Roef. According to De Jong, he was signed as third goalkeeper behind Matz Sels and Frank Boeckx. Since his father Max de Jong already worked at Anderlecht as goalkeeper coach, allegations of nepotism were made, but De Jong denied that it was his father who decided on the transfer. On 21 January 2018, during a league away match against Genk, De Jong was on the substitute bench for the first time, replacing the injured Boeckx. For the remainder of the season, he served as back-up goalkeeper due to Boeckx’ long-term injury, but did not make an appearance.
