Boris Olegovich Mironov (Russian: Boris Olegovich Mironov ; born 21 March 1972) is a Russian professional defenceman in ice hockey. The Mironovs are the elder brother to Dmitri Mironov.

Mironov was released from retirement in 2006 and joined Russian team Vityaz Chekhov. Mironov played for one season in the team before resigning to the side permanently in 2007.

After being sold to Chicago Mironov’s performance slowed off. Despite a successful first season as a player, the offensive performance decreased as each season went by. Then, in 2003, he made the move for the New York Rangers where things were not much better and he eventually resigned in his 2003-04 campaign.

Mironov began his career in hockey with five seasons of playing in the HC CSKA Moscow. HC CSKA Moscow. The Russian was picked at the 2nd round in 1992’s NHL Entry Draft 27th overall with Winnipeg Jets. Winnipeg Jets, Mironov only played 65 games with the Jets in his first season, before being traded with the Edmonton Oilers as part of an agreement which allowed Winnipeg to acquire fellow defenseman Dave Manson. Even though he had a decline in performance right after the deal, Mironov’s performance was so good that he was selected to the NHL All-Rookie Team. Mironov played six seasons as the top two defenseman for the Oilers before being traded by the Chicago Blackhawks. While in Edmonton media and the fans frequently called him BoBo.

Mironov is a twice Olympian of the Russian national team of ice hockey. He took home an Olympic silver medal at the 1998 Olympics in Nagano, Japan where he played alongside the brother Dmitri. He also received an award of bronze at the 2002 Olympics from Salt Lake City, Utah.
