Bob Daniels is one of the most popular and richest Ice Hockey Player who was born on March 13, 1959 in Livonia, Michigan, United States. Daniels started his coaching career right after finishing his studies at Michigan State with a BA in accounting. He then became the head coach of the Hennessey Engineers of the Great Lakes Junior Hockey League. In the following three seasons, living in Plymouth, Michigan, Daniels returned to the college level to study at Miami University and earning a Master’s degree in sports administration in addition to being an assistant to the graduate team of the RedHawks during the years 1986-87. The following season featured Daniels as an assistant to the college at Illinois-Chicago. In his second year, the Flames enjoyed their best year and finished 3rd in the CCHA and making it to the first round of the tournament, for the very first time. After a two-year period, Daniels relocated back to Michigan as the assistant coach to Ferris State under John Perpich.
In the following decade, the Bulldogs maintained a steady .500 mark until the 2011-12 season when Daniels received Ferris State its second regular season championship, as well as an NCAA Tournament appearance. The 2012 Tournament was a much better performance for the team, as they won all of their three games, while conceding only one goal per game. The team was unable to stop the first overall seeded Boston College Eagles from taking the title, falling 4-1 in the championship match. The season ended with a glimmer of hope as Daniels was awarded the second CCHA Coaching of the Year Award and the Spencer Penrose Awards.
In his first year as the head of the team, Daniels was able to lead his Bulldogs to another 20-win season however it would take an additional six years before he was able to help his Ferris State faithful win another successful season. Daniels kept his job in his post despite the lack of regular results and was rewarded by his Bulldogs for their very first 30 win year in the 2002/03 season. Ferris State won its first regular season conference championship the following year, but fell one game shy of winning its first tournament championship in the conference and lost in the final to Michigan 5-3 during the championship. With their outstanding performance, Ferris State received an at-large invitation into at-large selection to the NCAA Tournament in 2003. NCAA Tournament, their first appearance at the championships and defeated the perennial strong North Dakota in the regional semifinal before losing. Daniels has coached his first Hobey Baker Award finalist in 2003. While Chris Kunitz failed to capture the honor, Daniels himself received both the CCHA Coach of the Year Award and the Spencer Penrose Award.

After a disappointing campaign in 1989-1990 Bob Mancini replaced Perpich but Daniels was kept in the role of assistant. The first season as Daniels as the new coach saw the Bulldogs achieve their first 20-win campaign in the last decade. However, they fell back to below .500 during 1991-1992. Mancini was fired to take over the team at Michigan Tech, leaving the possibility wide open to Daniels to assume the helm.

The following season was Ferris State’s last in the CCHA when the conference dissolved after the realignment resulting from the formation of the Big Ten. They joined the WCHA beginning in 2013–14 and got off to a fast start, winning the regular season title with a 29-win year and making their third NCAA berth, losing a double overtime game to North Dakota in the regional finals. For his efforts Daniels was awarded the WCHA Coach of the Year Award.
