Bhawana Kanth is among the pioneer female fighter pilots in India. She was named an early combat pilot with two other members of her group, Mohana Singh, and Avani Chaturvedi. The three were inducted into an Indian Air Force fighter squadron in June of 2016. They were officially commissioned by the Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar. Following the time that the Indian government India made the decision to open the fighter stream within the India Air Force for women on a trial basis These three women were the first selected to participate in the program.
