A tragic accident occurred to him when he was 16 years old when hewas a senior school student, fell off the walnut tree. After graduating from high school, Anton was preparing to become a tailor, and initially worked in a factory for garments. When he was doing regular rehabilitation in Lviv Anton was advised to join to play sports, and he took fencing after the suggestion from the first coach. He has since been training with the “Invasport” program in Lviv.
In 2015, he won European Champion in both the category B foil and sabre events.
In 2017 Anton Datsko won ‘bronze’ at Wheelchair Fencing Stadskanaal World Cup and ‘gold’ at Wheelchair Fencing Pisa World Cup. On the 2017 Wheelchair Fencing World Championships held in Rome Anton Datsko took ‘silver’ (foil), and ‘bronze’ (saber team).
Datsko won the silver medal at the Paralympic Games in London due to a loss during the finals to China’s Hu Daoliang 10-15.
In the Paralympics at Beijing Datsko was seventh in foil, and 10th in Sabre. Datsko won a few gold medals during his European and World championships in 2011.

Anton Datsko (Ukrainian: Anton Datsko ; b. 23 May 1983) is a Ukrainian wheelchair fencer who took home the gold at the IWAS Wheelchair Fencing Grand Prix in Eger, Hungary, won gold during the Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 and was awarded an Olympic silver medal in the Paralympic Games in London in 2012.
Anton has been involved in wheelchair fencing since the year 2003, and has been part of the team for national competition since. Anton competes in the the category “B” for men’s sabre and foil.
In wheelchair fencing at 2016 Summer Paralympics, Anton Datsko won ‘gold’ in the men’s individual saber event (category B) after winning 15-7 against Panagiotis Triantafyllou of Greece.
