Anthony Tonkin is one of the most popular and richest English footballer who was born on January 17, 1980 in Penzance, England, United Kingdom. Anthony Richard Tonkin (born 17 January, 1980) was one of the English ex-footballer from England who was a defensive player.

However the defender was released from Aldershot in February 2015 but was then hired to Southern League side Frome Town at first, until the conclusion of the 2014-15 campaign.

Tonkin was signed by Cambridge United on 1 July 2008. In January of 2010, Tonkin joined Oxford United for an unspecified fee. Then, in May of 2012 Tonkin had been released by Oxford United following a decision that deemed him not enough to meet the demands. On the 25th of May 2012 Tonkin became a member of Aldershot Town on a one-year contract which will see him join his former colleague Josh Payne at the Recreation Ground. Tonkin was a first-team player for Aldershot Town proving to be a reliable player in an under-performing team.

Tonkin was born in Penzance, Cornwall, Tonkin started his career at Mousehole as well as Falmouth Town, where he was second-placed to Truro City in the South Western League in 1997-98 season. The success of Falmouth was enough to draw the attention of Yeovil Town, who signed the player in 1998, in which he played 95 games with one score over three seasons with the club. After 2002, the club was transferred into Stockport County, where he was for a year before being moved into Crewe Alexandra in August 2003 at a reported cost of $150,000. In the course of more than 90 games in just 3 years, the player was let go and later was re-admitted to Yeovil.

On March 2nd, 2007, the player became a member of Grays Athletic on loan for the remaining season. He was let go by Yeovil when he returned in May 2007. The following month the club signed him to Conference National club Forest Green Rovers after reportedly deciding to turn off Football League clubs to stay in the Southwest. He played 38 games in the league while the club was with their best ever league finish and was then released after the season.
