Anna Olehivna Muzychuk (Ukrainian: Anna Olegivna Muzichuk ; Slovene: Ana Muzicuk; born on February 28th the 28th of February, 1989) is an Ukrainian grandmaster of chess. From 2004 until 2014 she was a player for Slovenia. The Slovenian is fourth player following Judit the Polgars, Humpy Koneru, and Hou Yifan, who has crossed the mark of 2600 Elo and achieved a rating of 2606 by July 2012.
Muzychuk was a top player on the board of Slovenia during Slovenia’s Women’s Chess Olympiads of 2004 2006, 2007 and 2010. In her debut Olympiad 2004 she beat not only the world’s champion of the time, the women’s champion, Antoaneta Stefanova. In 2006, the Slovenian team was seeded 17th and placed 10th.
Muzychuk was awarded the titles of International Master in 2007 and Grandmaster in 2012.
In 2007, she won the European women’s blitz chess championship and finished second in the European women’s rapid chess championship, both held in Predeal, Romania.
The year 2003 was the time Muzychuk was also crowned in the Ukrainian Women’s Championship. She also won her the Ukrainian U20 girls’ championship in 2004.

Between 1997 and 2005, she took home numerous medals from 1997 to 2005 at Ukrainian, European and World Youth Championships. She took gold at the European Under-10 girls’ championship between 1998 and 2000. She also won the Ukrainian girl’s under-10 championship in the year 2000. Ukrainian as well as European Under-12 Girls Championships in 2002, European Under-14 girls championships during 2003, and in 2004. World U16 girls championship in 2005. She won bronze at the European under-10 girls’ championship in 1999 and 1997 The European Under-12 girls’ title in 2001. She represented them first in junior and then in adult tournaments, becoming the strongest female chess player in Slovenia and the third best female player in the world. Muzychuk continued to play for Slovenia even when while she lived in Stryi (Ukraine), and her younger sister Mariya, twice represented the Ukrainian national team.
