As of March 2020 Efunshile is Chair of Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing; a non-Executive Director of University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust; a non-Executive Director of Channel 4; and Chair of Ballet Black.
Efunshile was listed in Power List 2013, Britain’s most influential black men. Efunshile was ranked 43rd in the “Top 100 BAME Business Leaders in the UK” list in April 2016. This list was compiled by Executive Search firm Green Park and The Sunday Times. It included a panel consisting of Raj Tulsiani (Green Park), Baroness Janet Royall and Baroness Oona Kings, Lord Victor Adebowale, Lord Chris Holmes, and Baroness Janet Royall. Efunshile was included again in the Green Park list of “100 most influential BAME executives” in October 2017.

Efunshile, after holding various positions in education, youth work and administrative administration, was the executive director, education, and culture of London Borough Lewisham between 1996 and 2001. From 2001 to 2006 she was the head of the Children’s and Young People’s Unit and later the Vulnerable Children Group at the Department for Education and Skills.
She joined Arts Council England in 2007 as executive director, arts investment and planning. In 2009, she became chief operating officer (2009-2012) and deputy chief executive (2012-12). In October 2016, she resigned from her position.
