Zahasmi Ismail is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on April 18, 1967 in Kelantan, Malaysia. Zahasmi bin Ismail, a former Malaysian footballer, is currently the head coach for Kelantan United’s Malaysia Premier League side. He was born 9 November 1961.
He was named head coach of MOF F.C., Malaysia’s third-tier league club, on 20 December 2015. Malaysia FAM League. MOF was second in Group B league table.
Zahasmi’s coaching career began in 2011 when he was appointed as the head coach of Kelantan’s youth soccer team. He led the team to be King’s Gold Cup champions and Malaysian President’s Cup winners in 2011. He was appointed assistant coach to Kelantan FA senior team in 2012 with Bojan Hodak serving as head coach.

In 1986, Zahasmi started his football career playing for his local team, Kelantan FA. He was a central defender. Before signing for Terengganu FA’s two-year contract in 1995 and 1996, he played for the team from 1994 to 1994. He is known as a physical, strong, commanding, and determined defender. His aggressive tackling, positioning and leadership are what made him a ‘The Tank’. After returning to Kelantan, Zahasmi played three seasons there before joining JKR Kelantan. In 2004, he retired from football and last played for JKR Kelantan.
Zahasmi, a Selangor FA forward, was attacked by Zsolt Bucs during the Premier League match at Merdeka Stadium on 18 June 1994. After being found guilty, he was expelled from the sport for six months.
On 30 November 2016, Zahasmi was appointed the successor of Velizar Popov at Kelantan FA becoming new head coach for 2017 season. His experience with Kelantan football in being crucial in making him the new head coach for the team. He also took over as the interim head coach of the club in 2015 when Azraai Khor left the head coach position.
