During the 2010–11 season, Hamill played in three games for the Boston Bruins, earning an assist against the Montreal Canadiens on February 9, 2011. He was recalled to Boston during the 2011 Stanley Cup playoffs, where the Bruins won the Stanley Cup. Although he did not qualify to have his name engraved on the Stanley Cup, he received a Stanley Cup ring.
The 2006-07 season of Hamill was undoubtedly his finest. Hamill represented Team WHL again in the 2006 ADT Canada-Russia Challenge. In January, Hamill participated in the 2007 CHL Top Prospects Game. Hamill, who scored 13 points in four games, was named WHL’s player-of-the week for January 22-28. After collecting 24 points in 12 games, Hamill was named player of the month. Hamill, who scored 93 points in the final season of the WHL’s season, won the Bob Clarke Trophy for the WHL’s top scorer. He was also named to the WHL West First All-Star Team. Hamill won the Silvertips single-season assists and points record with his 61 assists. Hamill finished the season with seven Silvertips franchise records.

Zachary Robert Hamill, a Canadian professional ice hockey center, was born September 23, 1988. He is currently playing for EC Bad Nauheim in the DEL2. Hamill was drafted by the National Hockey League’s Boston Bruins in round one, eighteenth overall in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. Before turning professional, Hamill had spent his entire Western Hockey League career with the Everett Silvertips.
Hamill was drafted by the Everett Silvertips, in the third round of the 2003 WHL Bantam Draft. On October 8, 2003, Hamill made his Western Hockey League debut against the Seattle Thunderbirds. Despite only playing in four regular season games during the 2003-04 season Hamill was able to finish with two assists and was reassigned by the Port Coquitlam Buckaroos (PIJHL). For their 2004 WHL playoff run, he played in 20 games for the Silvertips. Hamill played in 57 WHL games during the 2004-05 season. His rookie season ended with 33 points. Hamill represented Canada Pacific at 2005 World U-17 Hockey Challenge, Lethbridge (Alberta). In the off-season Hamill represented Canada in the 2005 U-18 Junior World Cup, Breclav, Czech Republic and Piestany (Slovakia).
On August 8, 2007, shortly over a month after being drafted by the Boston Bruins, Hamill signed his first professional contract with the organization. After attending the Bruins’ training camp in 2007 and playing in one pre- season game, Hamill was returned to the Silvertips for the 2007–08 WHL season.
