Kadi graduated from Alexandria University in Cairo, Egypt, in 1977 with a bachelor’s in architectural engineering. He then became an intern at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, Chicago, from July 1979 to February 1981. He was instrumental in the development of a master plan for the Mecca Campus at King Abdulaziz University and the contract documentation.
