He was the third Royals player to achieve this feat, and the second Royals player to do so in consecutive seasons. Tifu’s post-season performance was regarded as the most impressive by any Royals player. He led the league with 12 goals, 25 points, and helped the Royals win their first Kelly Cup. Tifu was selected as the Fans and Team MVP. He was also the first player to be re-signed for the next season, July 4, 2013.

Tifu was undrafted by the Dayton Bombers on August 14, 2008. He was traded to the Florida Everblades by Jarret Lukin and Steve Czech for Mike McLean and future considerations. Tifu signed with the Chicago Express of ECHL as a free agent on October 7, 2011 after completing his second season with Elmira Jackals. This was despite significant interest from Jackals rivals the Reading Royals.
Tifu was traded to Reading Royals for Chad Painchaud in the 2011-12 season. Tifu quickly established himself in the Royals, and was elected team captain by March 2012. Tifu finished the season as the team’s leader with 59 points after only 52 games, before succumbing to defeat in the first round.
In the off-season returned to the ECHL in signing a contract with the Brampton Beast on July 29, 2015. In the 2015–16 season, Tifu appeared in 5 games with the Beast, and recorded his 500th ECHL point before he was traded in a return to the Reading Royals on October 28, 2015.
