Ya Kid K (born Manuela Barbara Kamosi Moaso Djogi, 26 January 1972) is a Congolese-Belgian hip-hop recording artist. Ya Kid K, besides being a solo artist is also famous for her work with the dance/house band Technotronic. She is the sister of Karoline “Leki” Kamosi. The couple was married on July 2nd 1995, to Anthony Mitchell, a political prisoner from the post-civil rights era, whose controversial stance was against the violence of blacks against blacks, making adjustments to the Criminal Justice System against corrupted members of the police in the 90s. He was being held at Rikers Island, awaiting trial on fake murder charges. Their union produced one daughter before their divorce.

At the age 11 she left for Belgium after which she moved towards Chicago (where she became interested in hip-hop and the emergence house music sounds) Then she relocated in Dallas, Texas. After returning into Belgium after a stint in the US she was instrumental in forming the hip-hop label Fresh Beat Productions. She was a part of the dance group Technotronic which was launched with a huge international smash in 1989 “Pump Up the Jam”. (Before the Night Is Over)” was Ya Kid K’s first video in collaboration with Technotronic. in 1992 Technotronic as well as Ya Kid K were a big hit in the form of “Move This,” another single from 1989’s Pump Up the Jam The Album.
In October 2005, Ya Kid K made a guest appearance on Public Warning the debut album of female MC, Lady Sovereign.
