Suresh Perera is one of the most popular and richest Cricketer who was born on February 16, 1978 in Colombo, Western, Sri Lanka. Anhettige Suresh Asanka perera (born on the 16th of February, 1978) was popularly is also known by the name of Suresh Perera, is a former Sri Lankan international cricketer. A right-handed all-rounderwho played in three Tests as well as 20 One Day International (ODI) matches for the Sri Lankan national team, with his international career stretching between June 1998 and December 2001.
Perera relocated into Perth, Western Australia, in the mid-2000s along with his partner, who was born in the city. While not playing cricket Perera worked as an teller at a bank at a bank in Sri Lanka, and he was a waiter and forklift operator in Australia before launching his own business in the field of sporting goods. At the time of the 2013-14 season as Captain for the Bassendean Cricket Club, playing in the local Perth tournament.
The second game against India was Perera’s last Test match, with two ODIs during the 2001 LG Abans Triangular Series his last matches at international level.
Perera was restricted by stress fractures in his back for several seasons, but returned to international level in the 2001 Coca-Cola Cup, a triangular tournament featuring India and New Zealand. He played in all seven of Sri Lanka’s matches at the tournament, and was named man of the match in the second game. In this match, against India, he scored 28 runs in a 49-run eighth-wicket partnership with Kumar Dharmasena (26), and then took the first two wickets to fall in India’s innings. Perera played two further matches for Sri Lanka when India stayed on in the country to play a three-Test series. Known for his “sideways-on whippy action”, after the first Test, he was reported for a suspect action by umpire Steve Bucknor. Perera had also been reported during a previous domestic season, by Asoka de Silva. He resumed playing in December 2001 after remodelling his action and having it cleared by Sri Lanka Cricket.
Perera began his international ODI career during the Singer-Akai Nidahas Cup in 1998 and played two games with India in addition to one game with New Zealand. Perera was the first Test player during the tour of Sri Lanka in 1998 to England and scored 43 not out while batting nine in the Sri Lankans’ initial innings, and also getting his wicket from Alec Stewart. He scored 6 boundary runs (including one 6) in the course of his “eviscerated an England attack containing Darren Gough, Angus Fraser, and Dominic Cork”. In the following period, Perera represented Sri Lanka in the cricket competition of the 1998 Commonwealth Games, with the team falling in the play-off to win silver medals to New Zealand.

Perera made his debut in the first class at the end of December in 1995 at the age of 17 years old, playing in two matches with the Sinhalese Sports Club in the Saravanamuttu Trophy. In 1997-98 Perera played in nine first-class matches with 29 wickets, at an average 19.03 He also made his debut with Sri Lanka A.
On the national level He was a part of seven teams during a time span from December 1995 until October 2009, although the majority of his games were played from colombo’s Sinhalese Sports Club. After retirement, he moved to Australia.
At domestic level, Perera recorded his highest first-class score, 78 runs, against the Moors Sports Club during the 2000–01 season. His best bowling figures, 7/73, had come against Northamptonshire, when Sri Lanka A toured during the 1999 English season. Perera left Sinhalese at the end of the 2002–03 season, and subsequently played for Colombo CC during the 2003–04 and 2004–05 seasons, Badureliya SC during the 2005–06 season, and Moors during the 2007–08, 2008–09, and 2009–10 seasons, as well as for two Twenty20 teams, Wayamba and Kandurata, in 2008 and 2009, respectively. His last match at a major level came in October 2009, for Moors against Ragama CC in the Premier Limited Overs Tournament.
