Xabier Azkargorta is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on September 26, 1953 in Azpeitia, Spain. Francisco Xabier Azkargorta Uriarte (born 26 September 1953) is a Spanish retired soccer player who was forward and manager.
Even in the decade following, Azkargorta worked with the national teams of Bolivia and Chile. He guided Chile team to 1994’s FIFA World Cup, thus being the first time that Mexico made it to the tournament through the qualifying process. In 1997 the year he was back to the club after signing with Yokohama F. Marinos, and eight years later, he was appointed head for Mexico’s C.D. Guadalajara In between the two years, he worked in the academies of Real Madrid as head of its academy across Central as well as South America.
Azkargorta was again chosen as Bolivian national side manager on 17 July 2012, replacing Gustavo Quinteros six games into the 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign. He was relieved of his duties on 9 March 2014, after it was revealed he had signed with Club Bolívar.
After another two years within Catalonia, Azkargorta continued to coach in the top league until 1991, he was in the charge of Real Valladolid, Sevilla FC and CD Tenerife, and being dismissed by the two clubs before their respective campaigns concluded.

In Azpeitia, Gipuzkoa, Azkargorta had a contract for five years for Athletic Bilbao after arriving in 1971 from the neighbouring Real Sociedad and completed his formation with the former club however he was not able to play in any official matches as a member of the team’s first unit due to injuries. He retired when he was only 23 years old.
Azkargorta began working as a manager a year after his retirement, with his initial experience were in lower league football, mostly in his native Basque Country. The summer of 1982 saw the then 28-year-old was appointed manager at Gimnastic de Tarragona in Segunda Division B and the following season, he was promoted straight to La Liga after signing for RCD Espanol.
In March 2006, Azkargorta was appointed director of football at Beijing Guoan F.C. in the Chinese Super League. In the 2008 summer he returned to his homeland, joining Valencia CF in the same capacity.
