In 1981, following his move into Hong Kong, Woon published the novel series wuxia Shenzhou Qixia (Shen Zhou Qi Xia; Hero of Shenzhou) in the Hong Kong newspaper Ming Pao. In the second quarter in 1983 ATV hired Woon to as one of their writers. The same year, his work was released through Bok Yik (Bo Yi ) which was a subsidiary of TVB. The wuxia novels he wrote were later republished by an Taiwanese publishing house, Wansheng (Wan Sheng ). His novel-length series Si Da Ming Bu and Buyi Shenxiang (Bu Yi Shen Xiang ) were also adapting by ATV to be a television series.

Woon Swee Oan (born Woon Liang Giok in January 1954) Also known as WenRui’an, is an Hong Kong-based Malaysian Chinese poet and writer of novels in wuxia. His most well-known writings include Jingyan Yi Qiang, Buyi Shenxiang as well as Si Da Ming Bu, which were adapted into the television shows The Four and Face to Fate as well as the movie The Four, among others.
Between 1971 between 1971 and 1971, Woon was a student of aesthetics and psychoanalysis. From 1990 to 1998, Woon ventured into the mainland Chinese market and spent most of his time in China. His most recent works such as Da Laohu (打老虎 ), Bu Laoshu (捕老鼠 ) and Yuanhou Yue (猿猴月 ) were published by Crown House Publishing (皇冠出版社 ) in Hong Kong.
