William Morva Biography

William Morva is one of the most popular and richest Spree Killer who was born on February 9, 1982 in Midlothian, United Kingdom. William Charles Morva (February 9 1982 – July 6 7th, 2017) was a criminal from Hungary, an American. who was found guilty of two murders in 2006 of Sheriff’s Deputy Corporal Sutphin, and the hospital’s security guard Derrick McFarland in the town of Blacksburg, Virginia. The deaths were triggered by shootings near the campus of the University in Virginia Tech while he awaited the trial of a robbery attempt that he attempted. The jury sentenced him to execution on the 23rd of June, 2008 however, some doctors claimed that the man was suffering from a severe mental illness which caused him to believe he was insane and led him to commit suicide. A judge Ray Grubbs initially set the date of execution for October 21 in 2008. The date was set for June 4th, 2009 an appeal by William Morva was made to the Virginia Supreme Court. But the capital murder conviction and death sentence was confirmed on September 18, 2009.

On August 29th the year 2006, the Commonwealth’s Attorney Brad Finch announced that William Morva was to be accused of capital murder and possession of firearms in the murder of McFarland. A second capital murder case is expected to be brought in connection with the death of Sutphin which will be resolved during the grand jury’s meeting on October 10, 2006. Finch said he will be seeking the death penalty for Morva.

This initiated a manhunt for Morva, who on the morning of August 21, 2006, shot and killed Montgomery County sheriff’s deputy Cpl. Eric Sutphin on the Huckleberry Trail near the Virginia Tech Campus. Sutphin had been an officer for 13 years and had survived a prior shooting in May 2003, which killed officer Scott Hylton, leading Sutphin to quit the police force. Sutphin returned, however, after just six months away despite making much more money as a modular home salesman. He was survived by his wife Tamara and his nine- year-old twin daughters.

A year later, while in jail awaiting trial, William was taken to Montgomery Regional Hospital on August 20, 2006 for a sprained ankle and wrist. After using a hospital bathroom, he knocked deputy Russell Quesenberry unconscious using a metal toilet-paper container. He took the deputy’s gun and shot Derrick McFarland, a hospital security guard who was running to the deputy’s aid. McFarland died from his wounds.

On the 18th of August, 2005 William along with another man with a gun, both wearing masks, walked into in the Blacksburg Deli Mart but left since the store was locked and closed. The store clerk, who was who was still inside, called the police. The Blacksburg police were later that night were able to arrest William for attempted the armed burglary.
