William Richard Hoskins (born 6 May 1986) is an English footballer who is a player with Southern League Premier Division Central club Kings Langley, where he is forward.
After refusing an extension of his contract, Hoskins signed for Premier League club Watford together with his teammate Lee Williamson on 5 January 2007 for a sum in the amount of PS1.2 million. Hoskins was first introduced on the 13th of January 2007 after being on the bench in the match against Liverpool. He was unable to get noticed at Watford in the 2007-08 season with only three appearances. However, he did make a loan move to League One club Millwall in September 2007 where he had 12 games, scoring four goals during the time. Then he went back to Watford and, after several months of speculations, he joined Nottingham Forest on loan.
On 12 August 2008, Hoskins scored his first goal for Watford, an 88th-minute winner against Bristol Rovers in the first round of the 2008–09 League Cup. On 24 January 2009, Hoskins scored the third goal in the sixty-seventh minute which led to the 4–3 victory against Crystal Palace in the third round of the FA Cup.
In June 2010, Hoskins signed a two-year contract with Bristol Rovers. During the early parts of the season, he boasted a 1:2 goal to game ratio after a great start to the 2010–11 League One campaign. On 6 November 2010 during an FA Cup first round tie against Darlington, he suffered a sprained ankle injury, ruling him out for around four weeks, but came off the bench two weeks later away to Brighton & Hove Albion. In March 2011, with Bristol Rovers struggling, Hoskins was said to be leaving Rovers at the end of the season. He signed a deal with the League One champions Brighton & Hove Albion after Bristol Rovers were relegated from League One.
Hoskins experienced a great pre-season in 2006-07 with his new striker partner Delroy Facey. The pair scored two goals during the game against Scottish Cup finalists Gretna. But, he was struck by an injury that was minor prior to the opening game of the season, and Dave Hibbert had to step into his place to take his place. Hoskins came back to the team within a week and was inserted as a substitute in the second-half in the match against Huddersfield Town. The following week , he made an appearance off his bench in order to strike the winning goal against Blackpool and secure his place as a starter of the Millers. He played always in the team, however, he was never an established striker because of injuries.

Hoskins had an immediate impression when he was first introduced to the England U-18 squad. He set for the goal that won against Sweden on the 29th of April, 2004. Hoskins made his first appearance in England’s International U20s team in the 4-1 loss to Russia on August 16, 2005 at Moscow.

Knill offered Hoskins the chance to sign a one-year contract, saying that should Hoskins succeed as a player in the first team and earn a spot in the first team, Hoskins would be awarded the chance to sign a new contract prior to Christmas.
Hoskins completed his transfer to Nottingham Forest on 8 February 2008, joining the club on loan for the rest of the season, with Forest having the option of signing Hoskins permanently in the summer for £500,000, if he impressed manager Colin Calderwood. He made his debut in a 2–0 win over Millwall at the City Ground and impressed in his first two games in a Reds shirt, being credited for his liveliness and willingness to work hard. He endured a frustrating spell on the sidelines with a troublesome back injury, and with Brett Ormerod joining from Preston North End, Hoskins returned to Watford.
