William James Buchanon (born April 5 1983) is an ex- American football player who played for one year in the Oakland Raiders of the National Football League. Buchanon was signed by the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent in the year 2006. He played in the NCAA football tournament at Southern California. Buchanon was also an athlete with the New York Giants, Kansas City Chiefs and the Carolina Panthers. Buchanon was the child of the former NFL cornerback Willie Buchanon.
On the 21st of August 2007 the Giants took him off waivers and let him go six days later.
In the 2008 offseason, Buchanon re-signed with the Raiders. However, he was waived by the team on July 23.
On the 20th of September 2007 He was taken in from the Chiefs and placed on their practice team.

Following the Raiders suffered an array of injuries later in the season, resulting in several players being put on injured reserve. Buchanon was released as a member of the team’s practice squad the 20th of December in 2006 and was then added for the 53-man team. In the final couple of games during the season Buchanon was on the 40-man roster during the games. He only saw a small amount of playing time, but he did make one catch of nine yards during a losing game in the match against The Kansas City Chiefs in Week 16.
