Mrs. Toulmin has conducted, organised and sung in music programming for over 30 years. She has also recorded the recording of two recordings live. She orchestrated the performance of the Sydney Opera Orchestra and a 700-voice mass choir at the Sydney Opera House for the BBC’s Songs of Praise program filmed to promote Sydney 2000. In 2015 Wendy and Graham Toulmin returned to Aru in the north east of the Democratic Republic of Congo, where Wendy works in training and administration at the Institut Supérieur des Techniques Médicales (ISTM)
Following their return in Australia in 1991 the couple, Mrs. Toulmin together with husband set out to raise money and raise awareness for the war-ravaged nation of Zaire. Mrs. Toulmin started an organization along with her husband Graham Toulmin called, ‘Brass for Africa’ (money for Africa) that, in the following 14 years, built the “Rafiki Australie maternity clinic” and also established a dentistry clinic located in Aru that provided health aid and care to the 34 Anglican clergy, helped to build schools, assisted AIDS orphans, and also provided medical and food items to the growing amount of refugee refugees who fled from the civil conflict. They achieved this by creating CDs, performing Jazz concerts, and sponsoring Congolese nationals to come to Australia to make aware of the suffering of the Congolese people. More than 20,000 CDs were sold and the entrepreneur work is still going on even after the band ‘Brass for Africa’ wound down in 2007 when the administration changed to an entity that is part of Anglican Churches Springwood (NSW). Mrs. Toulmin continues to collaborate together with Anglican Aid and other agencies in order to secure funds and to provide assistance to those in Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Mrs Toulmin was involved in the creation of Langham Trust Australia in 1980-1981 to help fund scholarships for young leaders of the evangelical Majority World. In 2001, the Trust was reorganized to become Langham Partnership Australia, the Australian branch of Langham Partnership International, and Mrs. Toulmin served as the Executive Officer until 2014. Under her direction, Langham Partnership Australia contributed to training programmes for church leaders throughout the Pacific region, as well as scholarships for theological studies in Australia and the creation of literature in the languages that are from South East Asia, South Asia as well as South Asia, the Pacific along with The Middle East. Mrs. Toulmin helped promote the activities and activities of Langham Partnership Australia through regular publications, articles as well as speaking trips.
Mrs. Toulmin was a missionary in training in 1985. In 1987 she moved with her family into the Democratic Republic of the Congo as part of the Church Missionary Society where she together with her husband set up an enlightened dental clinic in Butembo. Mrs Toulmin studied language as well as assisted with literacy classes for women, and also raised her four sons.
