On the 20th of February, Sutton was defeated 2-0 by Arsenal during the 5th round of 2016-17’s FA Cup. Then, a petition was created by blog owner Guido Fawkes for Shaw to be allowed to work at the club. The first time Sutton United played following his departure, they had to put an outfielder in the goal after their primary goalkeeper was injured. The club been unable to find an alternative for Shaw.
On September 6, 2017 Shaw was penalized PS375 and was banned for two weeks in the FA for violating their betting regulations.

Shaw began his football career at Southampton’s academy, as a centre half. He was part of the team with the future England players Alan Shearer and Matt Le Tissier. Shaw was later sent on loan for two seasons to Reading. He was then removed by Southampton because of his weight. Then he moved into Basingstoke Town and was loaned to Bashley in which he was transformed into goalkeeper. Then he moved to AFC Lymington and in 1999 was transferred towards AFC Totton because of family commitments. By the year 2005, he’d relocated to Eastleigh where he was able to save a penalty in Eastleigh’s Isthmian Premier League play-off final which was instrumental in helping Eastleigh gain promotion to the Conference South for the first time. He left in 2010 and relocated towards Sutton United alongside Eastleigh’s manager Paul Doswell but returned to Eastleigh as a coach of players two years after. In his time, Shaw would often be involved in being subject to the “Who ate all the pies?” football chant.
When playing with Sutton United, Shaw was involved in a fight with supporters of Kingstonian before an Surrey Senior Cup match in December 2013. He ran over hoardings advertising his company and headbutted a person who was slammed at him for his weight. Shaw was dismissed by Sutton after the incident. After a brief stint working for Gosport Borough, where he was the goalkeeping coach during the club’s FA Trophy final appearance against Cambridge United, he was renewed with Sutton in February of 2015, until it was his turn to leave in February.
