Vijoo Krishnan is one of the most popular and richest Indian writer who was born on February 20, 1974 in Karivellur, India. The first time he encountered political protest for Vijoo Krishnan was demolition of the Babri Masjid demolition in 1992 at St Joseph’s College of Arts & Science, Bangalore. On August 25, 1997, Krishnan signed up as an associate member of the Students Federation of India in Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. His active involvement in student politics via left-wing politics led him to be the Vice President of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union (JNUSU) in 1997-98. The seat went to Govind Chandra Mishra of ABVP during the previous year. In 1996-97, the JNUSU election, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Pakistanhad was elected to three central panel seats, including vice-president general secretary, vice president as well as joint secretary. During his tenure , the students’ hostel protests forced government to hire a hotel on campus and to arrange for the transportation to the university. Training of students who are marginalized to prepare for the JNU entrance exam inside the campus was started during his tenure in the position of JNUSU president. In 2004 the year 2004, he was elected simultaneously the President for the State of Delhi and a member of the central executive committee of the Students Indian Federation (SFI).
Vijoo Krishnan has worked in support of taking action on MS Swaminathan Committee recommendations for improving the living conditions of farmers. Vijoo Krishnan has been the main organizer in organising the protests against suicides of farmers. Along together with P Sainath has constantly demanded fair prices for agricultural commodities and protection, as well as encouragement for sustainable farming practices. He also demanded the extension of the PM-Kisan pension to elderly tenants and farmers too. The committee claimed that the 2002 Gujarat protests were not a communal riot , but an act of pogrom. He was the first person to reveal the religious profiling of one Muslim boy identified as Sajid in the hands of Bangalore police in connection to the 25th of July of 2016 serial bombing within the city. Since 2009, Vijoo Krishnan is working closely with issues of agrarian and other issues affecting the peasants. He has been a frequent writer for The Frontline Magazine, The Hindu on Agrarian issues. Krishnan played an important role in the organising of the peasant-long march through Maharashtra as well as the huge protests throughout Rajasthan, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. It was the Mazdoor Kisan Sangharsh rallies held during Delhi as well as the Delhi Chalo March (29-30 November 2018,) was two of the most important occasions.
